Business Finland is now looking for a full-time, fixed-term (5 months) Trainee, Sustainable Business with a hands-on attitude and proactive mindset. Working in Business Finland’s Change Agent for Sustainable Business team offers you an excellent chance to start your career and work closely with sustainability topics in an international setting.
Business Finland’s strategy for 2025 is implemented through five Strategic Priority Areas. One of these is “Change Agent for Sustainable Business” (“SPA3”). The goal of this Strategic Priority Area is to encourage sustainability in Business Finland’s own operations and to catalyze our customers’ sustainable growth. The Strategic Priority Area consists of a sustainability project portfolio that is currently being implemented in practice.
You will get an opportunity to work in a fast-moving and truly global organization, offering you a unique view on international business and sustainable growth. You will work closely with the Change Agent for Sustainable Business -team, other Business Finland colleagues and stakeholders. You will get an unique opportunity to experience how sustainability strategy is implemented in practice.
In this Trainee position, your job tasks include the following:
Supporting project managers in their sustainability projects, for example in event management, project coordination or communication
Documenting, reporting and follow up the activities of Business Finland’s sustainability projects
Research, analysis and other administrative tasks (such as compiling materials or reporting) that support the projects
What we expect from you:
Relevant educational background from university or university of applied sciences (e.g. sustainability, strategy or international business).
Interest towards sustainability and strategy implementation and a passion to learn more
Good organization and prioritization skills and an open-minded attitude to operate in a rapidly changing environment
Proactive and hands-on attitude
Fluent communication skills in English and Finnish
Excellent skills with MS Office tools
Previous experience in project work, event coordination and/or communication related tasks (e.g. from summer jobs, internships or student organization activities) are considered as an advantage
You are a persistent person who gets excited and shows passion for what you do. You are a self-guided person who helps others and listens to colleagues. You have a “can-and-will-do” attitude, thrive on challenges, and are not afraid of tackling problems. Good organization skills, curiosity and eagerness to solve problems and a pinch of social intelligence will get you a long way with us.
