Feedback is always collected, but where does it actually go, and what is done with it? This question has puzzled students for quite some time, and I am pleased to share that we now have an answer. Last spring, our School of Business revamped its feedback response system.

In the new process, course feedback, national Bachelors’ feedback, Finnish Business Graduates’ recent graduates’ survey, feedback from recent graduates are initially processed within each majorsubject. The departments compile summaries and document their planned development actions for the upcoming academic year. After this, a joint feedback day is held in the spring, open to both the faculty and us students. On Feedback Day, summarized reports are reviewed along with results from other surveys, such as the joint university alumni survey and the Positive Impact Rating survey.

This new process was implemented for the first time last spring in 2024. This means our feedback on feedback processing has been heard, and real changes have taken place. A summary of the main points and actions from the first round was sent via email last spring, so if you’re interested, check for a message from Janna Inkerois titled “Kauppakorkeakoulun vastapalaute opiskelijoille 2024/JSBE’s response to student feedback 2024”. Since emails are not always the most effective way to reach students, we wanted to highlight this topic once again on behalf of Pörssi.

Thanks to this new feedback response process, we students have a chance to see how the faculty responds to our input. Next year, Feedback Day will be scheduled earlier in the spring, so as many of us as possible will still be around before the summer break. And even if you can’t attend, we know now that our feedback is addressed in a structured and transparent way. So now, more than ever, is the time to give course feedback!

If you have any further questions, feel free to reach out to me directly. And now, let’s make an impact!
