We are excited to announce that Pörssi ry is piloting a mentoring program during this academic year. This is a pilot version of the mentoring program, and in the future, our goal is to build a high-quality and diverse mentoring program for Pörssi to support studies and the first steps into working life.
The pilot program aims to form 10-12 mentoring pairs, and based on the feedback collected from them and the observations made, we will develop the program further.
The mentoring program is completely free and is implemented in cooperation with Pörssi Alumni ry. The program is run by a mentoring team of four, which includes the Vice President of Pörssi ry as well as experienced former members who have already graduated. The team consists of Jesperi Moisala, Santeri Heinonen, Ilkka Kuusi, and Niina Raatikainen. The team is responsible for the planning, implementation, and recruitment of participants from start to finish.
What is a mentoring program?
A mentoring program is an organized program in which a more experienced graduate, known as a mentor, guides a less experienced person, referred to as a mentee. The topics of guidance are highly individualized, and we strive to match pairs so that the mentor is as well-equipped as possible to provide support and assistance specifically to the mentee. Topics commonly discussed in mentoring include work-life skills, career planning, and clarifying studies, with the program focusing on individual guidance. The goal of the program is to support each person’s individual career development and transfer knowledge and skills from a more experienced person to the mentee. Mentoring aims to address each individual’s personal needs and answer their specific questions, unlike in lectures.
