So, you’re in business school now, so it’s probably time to start looking the part—or at least try! Take inspiration from Wolf of Wall Street and listen to TikTok’s finance bro fashion tips. In Fuksiaiset, you get to be exactly that cliché they always tease us business students about: the finance bro!
Grab that blazer, a puffer vest, and of course, a perfectly styled haircut. On Thursday, September 19, 2024, at 1:45PM,it’s time to gather on the Agora lawn for the final networking event of freshman week, where it’s your moment to shine—or at least pretend to. Fuksiaiset is the event that wraps up freshman week, where the freshmen get to showcase their skills by completing checkpoints around Mattilanniemi. The event starts on the Agora lawn, where the freshmen will be divided into teams led by our older students—those who have already mastered the art of maximizing (at least) a student budget.
The day promises success stories, and lighthearted competition. At the end of the evening, freshmen get to put on their white overalls for the first time and swear the traditional Pörssivala at Harju, marking the launch of your journey to financial expertise. The day will be long and intense, so it’s a good idea to bring some snacks. The event also follows a BYOB policy, so feel free to bring your own drinks if you wish.
